4. Transaction Creation and Account Linking
- After account linking, if the Contact also uses ArtX, the counterpart Transaction is generated automatically.
- Transactions cannot be created from ArtX; only ArtXCloud users can create them.
- When both parties have accounts, their Transactions are linked automatically.
When using account linking, you can optionally select the following verification requests for the Contact while creating the Transaction.
Contact Verification Requests (Optional)
You can optionally request the following verification from the Contact when creating a Transaction:
| Item | Overview |
|---|---|
| Account linking with the Contact | If the counterparty also uses an ArtX service, the accounts are linked automatically and status and Transaction information are synchronized. |
| Identity verification required | The Contact must submit identity documents if they have not already completed identity verification. |
| AML check required | An anti-money-laundering check. Enter the person’s name and perform the required screening. |
5. Examples
| Transaction | Gallery view | Counterparty view |
| An Artist consigns an Artwork to the gallery. | Consignment in | Consignment out |
| The gallery sells the consigned Artwork to a collector. | Sale | Purchase |
| The gallery completes the Transaction. | Sale completed | Purchase completed |
| The gallery pays the Artist’s share. | Consignment in completed | Consignment out completed |
6. How Paired Transaction Types Appear
In ArtXCloud, you enter the Transaction from your gallery’s perspective. The counterparty sees the corresponding opposite type.
The following table shows each paired relationship.
| Gallery Transaction type | Transaction type shown to the counterparty |
|---|---|
| Purchase | Sale |
| Sale | Purchase |
| Loan out | Loan in |
| Loan in | Loan out |
| Consignment out | Consignment in |
| Consignment in | Consignment out |
This relationship applies when the Transaction is linked automatically between ArtXCloud and ArtX.
